    Release of Deed of Trust-New Procedures


    Effective immediately, we will no longer return copies of the Deed of Trust that are stamped canceled

    Original documents will be returned to you. However, they will not be stamped canceled

    The recorded Request for Release of Deed of Trust will be returned by the Clerk & Recorder to the grantor per CRS statutes. If you need the recording information of the Request for Release of Deed of Trust or a copy for your records, please contact the Clerk & Recorder at the following web address:http://jeffco.us/recording/recording-fees/copy-fees/.

    If supplemental information is submitted with a Request for Release of Deed of Trust such as a Power of Attorney, Lost Instrument Bond or Letters of Administration, we will need the proper fee to record the documentation. Recording fees are $11.00 for the first page of a document and $5.00 for each additional page. We will reject the Request for Release of Deed of Trust if recording fees are not included.

    Forms for a Request for Release of Deed of Trust with and without production of the Evidence of Debt can be obtained by visiting the Colorado County Treasurers' and Public Trustees' Association Web page. If you are a qualified holder, you may use the form Submitted WITHOUT Production of Evidence of Debt.
