The Governor of the State of Colorado appoints the Jefferson County Public Trustee for a term concurrent with the Governor. The powers, duties and procedures for operation are defined in Title 38 of the Colorado Revised Statues (CRS). This includes foreclosure on Deeds of Trust in default and to release Deeds of Trust that have been satisfied.
