Deed Transfering title
A Public Trustee's Deed is issued to the holder of the Certificate of Purchase or the last redeeming junior lien holder after expiration of all the redemption periods.
Public Trustee Deed Fees:
Executing Public Trustee's Deed (including Notary Fee) $30.00
Recording a Public Trustee's Deed (Per Page) $11.00
Total Fee for a One Page Public Trustee's Deed $41.00
Record Additional Pages (per page) $11.00
For example, a two page Deed would be $46.00 to record.
Assignments are separate documents and require separate fees. Recording Fees:
Recording documents (per page, statutory) $10.00
Recording surcharge (per document, statutory) $1.00
Total to record a one page document $11.00
NOTE: How a foreclosure is processed is affected by when the Notice of Election and Demand was recorded by the Jefferson County Clerk & Recorder to start the foreclosure action. For files where the Notice of Election and Demand was recorded prior to 01/01/2008 speak to a member of the Public Trustee staff for further detail. For foreclosures files under foreclosure law changes EFFECTIVE January 1, 2010, there is an additional provision to the 2008 law. The Deed can be issued nine (9) business days after the sale if no Intent to Redeem has been filed.
