The Road & Bridge Division maintains over 740 lane miles of gravel road and 2,800 lane miles of paved road in unincorporated Jefferson County.

During the winter, road maintenance includes plowing snow, sanding icy roads, and clearing iced ditches and culverts to control snowmelt runoff.

In the summer, our crews grade roads and improve road surfaces with various treatments such as road base, recycled asphalt, and hot-mix.

We also complete special road construction projects throughout the year designated as capital improvements.
