Highway 126 was washed out late on Tuesday, July 21, due to a severe rainstorm, placing trees and debris on the road. Jefferson County has closed the highway down to Deckers.
No one has been hurt and forces have been mobilized. Jefferson County staff is assessing the situation. The road is severely undercut and washed away in several places. Jeffco has had people at the scene from about midnight last night through today.
