Sergeant Michael Denuzzi began his career in 1993. He joined patrol in 1996. His career includes being a field training, academy, and firearms instructor, as well as a member of the Jefferson County Regional SWAT team for ten years. He was recognized as the assistant team leader for three years before retiring in 2011. In 2007 Michael was promoted to sergeant and served again in Patrol before being assigned to recruiting in 2012.
Deputy Diane Obbema began her career with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office in 1985 as a patrol officer. In 1998 Diane became a specialized investigator in the Crimes Against Children Unit. In addition to case work, Diane was a field training Instructor and managed the department’s sex offender registry. Diane is a POST certified academy instructor and has taught officers throughout Colorado in the area of forensic interviewing of children. Diane joined the Training and Recruiting Unit in July 2009. She is originally from southern California.
Deputy Mark Bybee is a Jefferson County native who prior to working for the Sheriff's Office ran a family owned industrial and commercial painting company. Mark worked for two years in Detentions then transferred to Patrol in 2008. While working in Patrol Mark worked as a crime scene technician and as an operator and instructor for the automated license plate reader. In January 2012 Mark transferred to the recruiting unit.
Deputy Carlin Hastie grew up in Jefferson County. Her father being a Reserve Deputy for 16 years piqued her interest in law enforcement. Carlin joined the Sheriff's Office in 1995 and transferred to Patrol in 1999. In addtion to being a field training instructor she was chosen to represent the Sheriff's Office at the 2002 Olympics as a law enforcement volunteer. Currently, she is a member of the Sheriff's Office Honor Guard. In 2012 she was transferred to Recruiting.
Deputy Mark Barrick was born and raised in Pennsylvania. In 1994, Mark enlisted in the United States Air Force where he spent the next six years working as a Security Forces member / K-9 handler. In 2001, Mark joined the Sheriff’s Office and began his career in the Detentions Division. As a Detentions deputy, Mark was one of two certified Detention K-9 handlers and also was a member of the Detentions Special Operations Response Team (SORT). Later, Mark transferred to Patrol where he became a crime scene technician and a field training instructor. In April 2011 Mark transferred to the Recruiting Unit.
