    Information Notice StarVideo Visitation Coming Soon to Jefferson County Detentions Facility

    Beginning the week of May 5th, 2014, the Jefferson County Detentions will allow scheduled personal visits with an inmate from the comfort of your home, office, or anywhere equipped with a computer with high speed internet access.  Beginning the week of May 5th, 2014, you can visit: www.Securustech.net/VideoVisitation External Link Icon to signup to become an approved visitor with an inmate on-site at this correctional facility or for at-home visitations.  

    By scheduling an on-site visitation, you must travel to this correctional facility and participate in video visitation using terminals located in the visitation center.  By scheduling at-home visitation, you can participate in a visitation remotely using a computer, webcam, and high speed internet access.  Charges may apply.

    Visiting Hours and Location

    Visits are allowed daily between 9 - 10:30 a.m., 1-4 p.m., and 7- 8:30 p.m.  The visiting week begins on Sunday and ends on Saturday.

    Personal Visits

    • Medium and maximum-security house inmates are allowed one 30-minute non-contact visit per week.
    • Minimum-security inmates are allowed two visits per week.  
    • Juvenile visits are allowed three visits per week.
    • Disciplinary segregated inmates visits may be restricted.
    • Inmate workers may only receive visits during regular visiting time, during the inmate worker's non-working hours.

    • You are allowed no more than three (3) visitors at a time in the visiting area.
    • All adult visitors, 18 years of age or older, must provide proof of identification, bearing his or her photograph, issued by a government agency. Children may visit only if an adult accompanies them.
    • No previous inmate of the Jefferson County Detention Facility will be permitted to visit within 60 days of release.
    • Visitors must be appropriately dressed. Shirts and shoes are required. No clothing is allowed that may represent any specific club or organization known to be involved in criminal activity. No form fitting, suggestive or revealing clothing will be permitted. Clothing must cover the shoulders and be no shorter than mid-thigh on the leg. Persons inappropriately dressed will not be allowed to visit.
    • No gifts or items may be exchanged during visitation.
    • If you or your visitor abuse visiting privileges, display any misconduct or become a threat to safety and security, your visit will be immediately terminated and you may lose your visitation privilege through disciplinary action.
    • No phones or cameras are permitted inside the facility; you may secure these and other personal items in lockers in the lobby, or in your vehicle.

    Professional Visits

    • Attorneys, probation and parole officers, and law enforcement officials are considered professional visitors. These people are allowed contact visits with you during any reasonable business hour after presenting proper credentials and identification.
    • Clergy and bondsmen will be permitted non-contact visits only. Attorney investigators may have a contact visit with an inmate only after authorization by the administrative sergeant, otherwise they will be permitted non-contact visits only.
    • Inmates will not be served a meal in a contact-visiting booth during extended professional visits.
