Sheriff’s Office Media Contacts
Public Information Officers Jacki Kelley and Mark Techmeyer are responsible for disseminating information that may interest the public to the news media. Their unit is available 24-hours a day, seven days a week to respond to media inquiries concerning the sheriff's office. They may arrange interviews with other members of the sheriff's office staff upon request, dependent upon availability.
The media relations team believes in building cooperative partnerships with members of the news media. In 2003, Emergency Services Public Information Officers of Colorado (ESPIOC)
named Public Information Director Jacki Kelley PIO of the year for the Denver metro area. The team has been recognized for their involvement in the Platte Canyon High School shootings, Deer Creek Middle School shootings, Democratic National Convention, Windsor tornado, Alamosa Salmonella contamination, Youth with a Mission shootings, the Lower North Fork Fire, Aurora Theater shootings and Jessica Ridgeway’s kidnap/murder.
ESPIOC works to foster good relationships between emergency services public information officers and the news media.
