Thief gets purse, but transactions denied

Jefferson County, CO. – On September 13, 2013 a purse was stolen from an unlocked car in the area of 51st Ave. and Youngfield Ct. Before the victim could call the sheriff’s office to make a report, she received a call from her bank stating that a female had unsuccessfully attempted to cash the victim’s paycheck that was in her purse, and had used the victim’s driver’s license as identification. The victim then immediately cancelled all three of her credit cards that were in her purse.

The suspect attempted to make purchases at a Wal-Mart in Commerce City with those credit cards, but was too late and the purchases were declined.

A video surveillance photograph of the suspect is attached. If anyone recognizes this suspect, or has any information regarding these crimes, they are asked to call the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office tip line at 303-271-5612.
