    Family dog attacks infant in Evergreen


    Jefferson County, CO. – On March 4, 2014, deputies were dispatched to the 4700 block of S. Pine Rd. in Evergreen reference an infant who had been attacked by the family dog. The infant sustained serious injuries and was transported by helicopter to Children’s Hospital in Aurora, where he remains in critical condition.

    The dog, a 5-year-old 70 pound American Bulldog, was taken by Jefferson County Animal Control to the Foothills Animal Shelter where it is being held on 10-day quarantine for rabies observation. There will be no photo opportunities of the dog during this time.

    There is no prior history of calls for service at this residence. A joint investigation with Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office investigators and the Animal Control Division continues.
