    Five plastic bottle bombs found in south Jeffco

    Jefferson County, CO. – On January 2, 2014, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a plastic bottle bomb found outside the Edge Ice Arena located at 6623 S. Ward St. The Jeffco Bomb Squad responded and determined the device would not have exploded.

    On January 3, 2014, Jefferson County Park and Recreation employees discovered a exploded plastic bottle bomb in Easton Park, located at 12819 W. Coal Mine Ave., which is near The Edge Ice Arena. While searching the area, deputies found 3 more exploded plastic bottle bombs.

    The water bottle bombs are typically chemical based and are usually made in 2-liter plastic bottles. Anyone who observes a suspicious device is asked to leave it undisturbed and immediately call the Sheriff’s Office to report the incident.
