Annual Courage Walk Honors Victims of Crime

On Saturday, April 8, 2017, victim advocates will host the 24th annual Courage Walk for victims’ rights at the Jefferson County Courts and Administrative Building. The walk, which coincides with National Crime Victims’ Rights Week, is free and open to anyone in the community. The purpose of the walk is to honor the strength and courage of crime victims, and those who have lost loved ones to violence.

Registration begins at 10:00 a.m., accompanied by a free continental breakfast. The walk begins at 11:00 a.m, starting at the Jefferson County Courthouse, 100 Jefferson County Parkway, and ending at the Courage Garden south of the Courthouse. The half-mile walk is wheelchair accessible. Well behaved, leash-trained dogs are also welcome.

A suggested donation of $10 is encouraged but not required for participation in this event. Donations will be used to maintain the Courage Garden, train victim advocate volunteers, and provide for the needs of crime victims. For more information or to donate, please visit http://www.victimoutreach.org or contact the victim services manager at 303-271-5570.
