How can I find out if someone is in the Jefferson County Jail?
Please call our main information line at 303-271-5444. Be prepared to provide the inmate's full name and date of birth.
How may I send mail to an inmate?
To send mail to an inmate at the Jefferson County Jail, please address the envelope this way:

How may I visit an inmate?
The detention facility is located at 200 Jefferson County Parkway in Golden (enter from the upper west parking lot). Jail visitations are 9 to 10:30 a.m., 1 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 8:30 p.m., Sunday through Saturday. The Detention Facility main lobby is open 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., Sunday through Saturday. How can I get money to an inmate?
When an inmate is processed into the jail, all currency is taken from him and forwarded to the Inmate Services Unit and placed in his personal account for his use during incarceration.
Family and friends may deposit money into an inmate's account, from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the Inmate Services Unit of the jail at 200 Jefferson County Parkway in Golden (enter from the upper west parking lot). The following forms of funds will be accepted:
- checks from other law enforcement agencies
- U.S. currency
- U.S. Postal Service money orders
- cashier checks
- certified funds, made payable to the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office (J.C.S.O.)
No personal checks or credit cards will be accepted. No money or property may be exchanged between inmates.
May I call an inmate?
Incoming calls are not accepted.
