The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's assistance in locating a sexually violent predator.

Richard Frank Roy was paroled this week from the Colorado Department of Corrections.  Roy registered this week with the Castle Rock Police Department as a sex offender because of a conviction for sexual assault on a child. 

On Wednesday, 01/10/2007, Roy's parole officer alerted authorities to a problem with his GPS ankle monitor.  The monitor was later found to have been cut off and dumped in Douglas County north of Castle Rock.

Roy is now wanted on multiple arrest warrants and is considered ARMED AND DANGEROUS.  He has known ties to the south Jefferson County area but his exact whereabouts are unknown.

Residents are asked to immediately report any suspicious activites and persons matching Roy's description by calling 911.  Citizens should use caution and be mindful of the potential danger of this individal.  DO NOT ATTEMPT TO APPREHEND HIM.

Richard Roy is 66 years old, 6 feet tall, and approximately 250 pounds.  He has brown eyes and gray hair.
