Crime Prevention and Safety
The Sheriff's Office is dedicated to preventing crime in Jefferson County. Three crime prevention deputies act as liaisons with the public, speaking to homeowner organizations, schools, scouting groups, businesses and other community groups. The deputies are also responsible for helping residents to start or revive Neighborhood Watches.
We strongly encourage residents to take steps to prevent themselves from becoming victims. It may be as simple as closing your garage door or locking your vehicle. Or, start a Neighborhood Watch group in your area -- it is one of the best crime prevention programs anywhere.
