    Project Scope

This project will improve Chatfield Avenue to include elements of the Jefferson County Major Collector Street Template.  There will be two through-lanes, a striped median, on-street bike lanes, curb & gutter, and 8-foot wide concrete sidewalks. A single-lane roundabout will also be built at the Kendall Boulevard intersection. Jefferson County’s One-half Cent Sales Tax will be used to fund the roadway improvements.

A contract for road construction was awarded to Rocky Mountain Excavating, Inc. in the amount of $3.66 million.

Project Update (as of September 05, 2017)

    Current major construction activities are:

    • Placement of curb, gutter and sidewalk on the north side of W. Chatfield Avenue between S. Pierce Street and S. Lamar Street

    • Roadway paving on the north side of W. Chatfield Avenue between S. Pierce Street and S. Lamar Street (scheduled for September 8)

    • Temporary roadway striping (scheduled for September 9)

    • Construction on the south side of W. Chatfield Avenue (scheduled to begin on September 11)

ATTENTION: A new traffic pattern is scheduled to be in place between S. Pierce Street and S. Lamar Street on September 9. Traffic will be driving on the north half of W. Chatfield Avenue so that construction may begin on the south half of the roadway. This traffic pattern will be in place for several weeks.
