Tax Statement
Colorado law requires the County Treasurer to mail a notice of property taxes to each owner of record even though a mortgage company may be responsible for payment. We do not keep track of your mortgage company. If your taxes are paid by a mortgage company, you may wish to mail a copy of your notice to your lender with your loan number and retain a copy for your records. Your mortgage company is responsible for requesting payment information directly from this office. If a mortgage company requests payment information prior to printing your tax notice, a message will indicate that in red on the notice.
If you have not received a tax statement by January 31st, please contact the Treasurer's Office at 303-271-8330 and a duplicate statement will be mailed.
Per Colorado state statute failure to receive a tax notice does not relieve the owner's responsibility or liability for paying taxes on time.
The Tax Statement consists of two sections: the top section and the coupon section.
The top section shows which tax district the property is located in and the owner's individual tax schedule number. The taxing authorities which levy taxes on the property are listed individually along with their mill levy and dollar amount and the total computed tax amounts. Also provided is the assessed and actual value of the property as determined by the Assessor's Office.
The bottom section of the document consists of the Coupon that is to be detached and returned with your payment.
